Facebook Launches “Live Streaming Video” Feature For Celebrities

Facebook was quietly working on its own way to let public figures broadcast live videos to their fans via Mentions app, A “Celebrity Only” app from Facebook. Today, Facebook is launching “Live” as a feature that’s only available to celebrities with a verified Page.
VIPs can start a Live broadcast that’s posted to the News Feed, watch comments overlaid in real-time on their stream, and then make the recording permanently available for viewing.
Live product manager Vadim Lavrusik told “We think this will be an awesome experience for both public figures and also users. We want to get feedback from both public figures and viewers as we evolve the product.”

Facebook’s VIP-only Mentions app

Videos of “Live” won’t disappear like Meerkat or Periscope as they are immediately deleted on Meerkat and only live for 24 hours on Periscope.
While Facebook has never been great at real-time content due to its filtered News Feed, it’s worked to make sure Live broadcasts reach viewers while they’re still in progress. Beyond appearing quickly in the feed to a celeb’s subscribers, Facebook will send push alerts to tune into the broadcast to users who’ve recently interacted with that Page. This should trigger big audiences without annoying people who Liked an actor or athlete years ago and don’t really care.

How To Unlink Facebook Account from Skype

Skype gives you option to add your Facebook account with your Skype so that you can use Skype as a Desktop Facebook Chat Client, Now the question is, If you like to Unlink your Facebook Account from your Skype, how to do that?

Just open your Skype Client, Click on tab "Skype" and Select "Account" from the menu, then your browser will open web interface of your Skype Account, Log in there and look for the Link "Account settings" under "Account details"

Click on "Account settings", a new page will come up.

Look for section "Linked accounts" and you will find a link that shows "Facebook account: Linked ". Here, Click on "Unlink" and a new box will pop-up.

Confirm pressing "Continue" and you are all done there, your Facebook Account will be unlinked from your Skype.

Download Facebook Messenger for Windows

 

Facebook's Messenger app for Windows is now available for all to chit-chat with. Facebook has been testing the application since November as part of a private trial, but TechIT revealed the download link on Thursday. The application includes access to the chat, ticker feed and notification parts of Facebook, and only installs on Windows 7.

The app forms the latest in a series of standalone Facebook chat applications made available earlier this year. Facebook has previously released apps for iOS, Android and BlackBerry to enable users to chat on the go. The Windows 7 app doesn't take advantage of the unique pinning features of the operating system, but it does include a neat dock feature that will snap the app to the side of the screen.
