Huge fuel consumption is one of the fact that aviation industries are trying to fight. Fuel cost is increasing day by day, so researchers are trying to get alternative fuel and less fuel consuming engines.
Green Aviation
3% of whole world’s “carbon dioxide” is produces by Aviation Industries. According to EU, this rate is increasing and this growth is alarming. EU is trying to reduce this rate by 25% by 2050 and they are working on several projects as Green Aviation.
This Plane is not fuel operated, this plane runs on electricity.
New Seat Plans
This Plane will have seat plan in it’s wings also, this way this model can carry more passengers.
NO to Jet Engine, YES to “Open Rotor”
Open Rotor is more efficient than jet engine and consumes less fuel. A plane with Open Rotor can save 20% fuel, according to German Specialists.
Open Rotor : Slow and Makes Heavy Sound
Well, Rotor has 2 basic problems, 1. Rotor will make planes slow 2. Rotor makes more sound than Jet Engine
The Solar Plane
This one is lightweight and runs on electricity produced by Solar Cells.
The key Problems are:
1. Top Speed is only 70 KM/ph
2. Can not carry extra weight as cargo, Only Pilot
Back to Biplanes, may be?!
“A biplane is a fixed-wing aircraft with two main wings stacked one above the other” – Wikipedia
Biplane design will help to fly planes fast and with less fuel. This Lufthansa model is a modern plane with biplane wings design.
Space Liners
Open Rotor or Alternative Energy Engine as Solar Engine planes are slow and you need to get somewhere real fast – the solution could be “Space Liners”.
German Aviation Center is working on Space Liner models which will use Rocket Engine to carry cargo and Passengers. A standard Space Liner would take only One and Half hours to carry you from Europe to Australia. German Aviation Center says, the first working model may be operational by 2050.
